Here was our anchorage in Colon while we waited for our transit. On the far side is a huge dock where ships too big to transit the canal are unloaded of their contents, placed onto rail and taken to the far side. Sadly the anchorage was noisy, smelly and very rolly with all the movement of the ships. Some of the tug boats and service craft made a sport of taking a short cut through our tiny anchorage at speed, making all the boats bounce and pitch wildly. | |
